I have tried your game, and there are things that seem pretty cool, like the "vision facing", the fact that you hear monsters on the screen, and the fact there are shotguns :P but I have one small problem.

I am playing on Kubuntu Linux 64-bit version, running your game on wine (since it's windows only, and that's *evil* :P) and the letters on the help screen and the status bar are pretty much mangled. I can send you a screenshot if you like.

I don't know how you would solve this issue, perhaps using GPL'd fonts for the game (which are available for download for everyone) so it does not depend on propietary fonts...

Sorry for not putting more comments about the game itself, but the fact I could not read well those messages combined with the fact I have other things to do today have made me shut it sooner than I would have liked to.

Send me screenshot, please (mazecrawl@gmail.com).
Or post it at http://mazecrawl.com/forum in Bug Report section.

But I don't promise I'll solve it, 'cause I haven't test it in Linux at all.

Hey, excellent game.

I just tried it after it was mentioned on r.g.r.m.

The character generation is really cool,  and the engine works well. I seem suprised you use 45deg FOV though, making this wider would be better i think.  FOVs should overlap i.e >45deg so you can keep track of monsters when you have to navigate towards them or implement some sort of strafing.

Good work, I recommend people check this one out.

Thanks for your support.

I think I won't change FOV. It's the idea of the game (such FOV is done to make it more tactical). Besides, with good perception and Observer perk you can reach good observation angle value.
