Dear community,
I hereby announce the release of
JADE 0.2.1 at http://www.adom.de/jade/downloads/javawebstart/index.php
JADE 0.2.1 is the first bugfix release in the 0.2.x line and flattens many of the rough edges of the first real game release of JADE (0.2.0). I heartily recommend an upgrade to everyone!
If you are interested you can find the latest news as well as the download links for
JADE 0.2.1 at the official website:
http://www.ancientdomainsofmystery.com/2011/11/jade-021-has-been-released.html
Feedback is welcome in the forums and the project management tools (for bugs and requests
for enhancements) at
http://www.adom.de/forums
Let me know what you tink, provide feedback and help to grow JADE far beyond ADOM (which
I would like to succeed with within the next nine months).
Yours truly
Thomas Biskup
ADOM & JADE Maintainer

Anyone played this for a decent time and is it worth spending time on? P.s this is not meant to be a rude comment :)

I played it for about an hour last night. Lots of goblins.
Combat seems a little... well, I spent maybe 70 rounds in combat with an orc, each of us missing each other.
I don't know if it's really a game yet. Feels empty.
But then again, ADOM was always a bitch goddess. Nothing like finding a sword of sharpness, then having it get torn to pieces by a runed door. Or how about wandering the mountains endlessly so that you could FINALLY get a ring of ice? Good times!

Feels like a slightly more polished basic ADOM engine with a touch of Java slowness thrown in for good measure. Is there a quest, or something more than the same random dungeons?
It feels empty because it is, I just want something to do other that attack random gobs and orcs. Just a purpose for my character to actually put his life at peril.
