I was just watching a documentary about the inkas. I have always been fascinated by those cultures. I think such a theme might be cool for a rouguelike - or is there already one? :)
-
Id be keen for anything non-tolkien ;D
-
I can't remember even non-roguelikes with such theme.
-
The closest thing I know is Paganitzu, released by Apogee in 1991. It wouldn't qualify as a roguelike, but it's a nice little puzzle game, and by now it's freeware.

There is the H-World engine, by Hajo, which is entirely precolumbian.
-
The game should have possibility to sacrifice living creatures by capturing them and leading them to altar.
-
And totems that turn you into an eagle or a wolf or a bear (I don't know if thats South-American or not, but it would still be pretty cool none-the-less)
-
Definitively, a jaguar instead of a wolf
