Post by: Altefcat on January 16, 2008, 09:08:46 PM
You know, Planets are websites that present RSS or ATOM feeds from the same category of blogs. So, wouldn't it be great to have a place like that on Roguetemple, were every roguelike dev blogs would be gathered ?

I don't know Slash if it's feasible ? If yes, we could use this post to collect rss and atom urls from every devs. So, what do you think ?

That would be great for the roguelike.com domain, which seems underused right now... I will look forward to establish that on roguetemple... do you know any tools for that sort of page?

Hi Slash, actually I am trying to implement it on http://landsof.elderlore.com/?q=aggregator/categories/1 ; it is an english website I am building for the next releases of Lands of Elderlore.

Its engine is Drupal (http://drupal.org/), it has a feed aggregator provided by default. Websites that don't have feed, I created them with Feed43 (http://feed43.com/). It still have some issues with date sorting.

I have asked r.g.r.d about feeds for the planet, and now the list is about 14 entries long. I have added categories as Jice suggested : Planet Roguelike - Announce, Planet Roguelike - Development, Planet Roguelike - Design, and each feed belong to both Planet Roguelike and one of those three.

Right now that's only a try I've made, the main purpose of  http://landsof.elderlore.com/ will be about my roguelike; so maybe homing the planet roguelike on Roguetemple would make more sense.
