Title: Shoot First
Post by: Vanguard on July 07, 2010, 09:42:52 AM
This game describes itself as a co op action roguelike.  You run around in an (endless?) dungeon full of traps and monsters trying to last as long as you can.  I thought it was pretty fun, and the furthest I've been so far is level 14.

Check it out. (http://teknopants.com/games/shootfirst/)

In 2 player co op, dead players revive if their teammate makes it to the level's exit.  That makes it a lot more fun (so you don't have to either quit or leave someone watching), but it's also a lot easier.

There are items that only show up in co op mode too.

I like this.  I tried it out solo and then my son and I played it a bit.

For some reason, it reminds me of Wizard of Wor.  At the time I used to play this game, it was one of my favorite games.

It's just a shame that there's no way to do co op online.  Playing with family and friends is fun and all, but what I'd really like to do is team up with a fellow rogueliker and show this dungeon whatfor.

Yep there need to be more online coop roguelikes.

Phantasy Star Online is probably what gets closest.

Oh man I wasted so much time in that game's offline multiplayer mode back in the day.

But yes.  What the world needs is Morrowind 2: The Coop Roguelike with Mount & Blade combat.
