Title: rlZair - tile based roguelike
Post by: zurn on June 14, 2010, 03:18:18 AM
So I got some FOV code working to the point of showing it off a little.

You can check it out here: http://sites.google.com/site/jsrzair/#TOC-Field-of-vision-demo-video
You can watch it or download a demo.

Let me know what you think, thanks.

Looking like it is on its way---keep at it!   8)

Menu based design should be doable considering the console/portable Roguelikes that largely hew in that direction.

Nice work so far, zurn.

The square FOV is a bit unorthodox; I am partial to a radial (circular) FOV, myself.

Also, from the FOV video, you can sometimes see through a wall to the wall behind it.

Looking forward to seeing how it develops!

Hey man are you writing this in Game Maker? Were you aware that the game Dungeons of Fayte uses those same graphics? You can get the source code and some animations of those graphics on the Game Maker forums site. Looks like a nice project keep it going strong!
