My stupid advice:
If its really 100% ready for Steam, just release it, then get back to updates when you can.
Most games dont get them anyway, and nobody is going to get any anyway until you are healthy.

So its a race then, which one of us gets to a playable game first.

I made some normal maps to make the edges more visible.

Universe Level 7 map showing 108 galaxies.
The small cubes are just decoration, very distant unimportant galaxies.

If you are just making an editor, there is no need for Unity, just use Visual Studio C#
